
Stature is a landmark luxury mixed-use residential development by Maxcon Construction, located at 35-51 Hancock Street, Southbank VIC, within one of Melbourne’s most vibrant cultural and lifestyle precincts. The development’s high-rise configuration and premium residential character required a practical and compliant waste management solution capable of servicing a large number of levels with integrated waste compaction equipment at ground level.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a dual waste and recycling chute system across 34 chute pipe levels, with 56 fire-rated self-closing intake doors installed across operational levels for both waste and recycling streams. Bypass configurations were incorporated across the lower six levels for both streams, and four additional access panels were installed at selected levels to support maintenance access throughout the shafts. Both chutes run straight up and down, with the discharge room located at ground level.
The discharge room is fitted with two Type A bottom discharge doors, one for the waste stream and one for the recycling stream, both configured to suit 1,100L MGBs. An integrated single bin compactor configured to suit a 1,100L waste MGB was also installed, supporting efficient waste compaction and reducing the frequency of bin changeovers for building management at ground level.
Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of both chute shafts, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the full height of the building.
