Dual Waste and Recycling Chute System Installation

Lidcombe Walk is an award-winning mixed-use residential development by Alliance Project Group, located at 2-6 Kerrs Road and 46 Joseph Street, Lidcombe NSW, within Sydney’s Cumberland City Council area. The development’s mixed-use configuration and high-density residential occupancy required a practical and compliant waste management solution providing separate waste and recycling streams across multiple levels.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a dual waste and recycling chute system across nine chute pipe levels, with 18 fire-rated self-closing stainless steel intake doors installed across all operational levels for both waste and recycling streams. The chutes run straight up and down with no offsets, with the discharge room located at ground level fitted with two Type A bottom discharge doors, one configured to suit a 660L waste MGB and one to suit a 660L recycling MGB.

Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of both chute shafts to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the building.
