
Laguna Waters is a residential development delivered by Philip Usher Constructions in Brisbane’s bayside region. Located close to the waterfront and local services, the project supports medium‑density residential living and required a compliant, reliable waste management solution capable of handling daily resident volumes while supporting long‑term building performance.
To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a fully integrated dual waste and recycling chute system designed for low to mid‑rise residential environments. The system incorporates 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes servicing Levels 2 through to Level 6, providing smooth vertical waste transfer and reducing the risk of blockages during daily use.
Fire rated, self‑closing intake doors are installed for both waste and recycling on each active residential level. These fire‑rated chute doors maintain fire and smoke separation between floors while allowing residents to correctly separate waste streams at the point of disposal, supporting improved recycling outcomes across the building.
At the top of each chute, vent and wash‑down cleaning systems provide airflow and automated internal chute cleaning. This helps control odours, maintain hygiene, and protect long‑term system performance, particularly in a coastal residential environment.
At Level 1, waste and recycling are discharged through Type A bottom discharge systems designed to suit selected mobile garbage bin sizes. This configuration supports efficient bin placement and collection while minimising manual handling within the discharge room.
The completed residential waste management solution provides a low‑maintenance, future‑ready system that improves recycling performance, reduces operational issues, and supports reliable long‑term operation within a high‑quality bayside residential development.
