Dual Waste Chute System Installation

St Clair Residences is a luxury waterfront residential development by Habitat Construction Group, located on Birtinya Boulevard in Birtinya QLD, directly adjacent to Lake Kawana on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. The development comprises two high-rise residential buildings requiring individually configured waste chute systems aligned with the buildings’ vertical layouts.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed two waste chute systems across Buildings 930 and 931, providing 17 chute pipe levels and 17 self-closing waste hopper intake doors with 2-hour fire-rating. Both systems incorporate Type A bottom discharge doors configured to suit 1100L mobile garbage bins at Basement 1, with chute runs configured straight vertically to optimise installation efficiency.

The installation incorporated an acoustic lagging upgrade comprising 50mm 32kg/m³ glasswool insulation across both systems to reduce operational noise and support the premium living experience. Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of each chute shaft to support airflow management and odour control, ensuring efficient waste transfer across multiple levels and improved waste room operations for building management.
