Elephants Foot Consulting and Elephants Foot Chute Solutions collaborated with Westbourne and Bridgestone Projects to deliver a fully integrated waste management strategy for Château, a premium residential development within Castle Hill’s emerging Showground Precinct. Featuring 290 luxury apartments and townhomes across four nine-storey buildings, the project required both a forward-looking Operational Waste Management Plan (OWMP) and a large-scale Waste Chute System.
The Operational Waste Management Plan, developed by Elephants Foot Consulting, outlined waste generation estimates, bin storage requirements, collection logistics, and recycling strategies. This ensured that the development would not only comply with council and regulatory requirements but also operate efficiently for residents and facility managers over the long term.
To bring the plan into action, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed six Dual Chute Systems constructed with 510mm galvanised steel pipes. Each chute was fitted with fire-rated, self-closing Chute Doors, with 108 intake doors installed and compliant signage provided.
At the rooftop of each building, ventilation and wash-down systems were integrated to maintain hygiene and odour control. In the basement discharge rooms, 12 Linear Track Bin Systems were configured for 1100L MGBs, accommodating both waste and recycling streams without compactors.
This combined consulting and chute solution provided Château with a future-proofed waste management system that was designed for high volumes, operational efficiency, and compliance with NSW multi-residential standards.
