eDiverter Chute System Installation

Candela is a boutique luxury residential development by Ironside Construction, located at 40 Upper Heidelberg Road, Ivanhoe VIC, nine kilometres north-east of Melbourne’s CBD. Developed by Salter Brothers and designed by John Demos Architects, the six-level building delivers 58 apartments including a collection of loft-style residences, a rooftop terrace, and an on-site café, positioned steps from Ivanhoe Village and six minutes walk from Ivanhoe Station.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed an eDiverter chute system for Ironside Construction, with LLDPE chute pipes fitted with an acoustic lagging upgrade across all chute sections to manage noise transfer within the boutique building. Each servicing level is fitted with fire-rated self-closing intake doors to the eDiverter stream, with an odour relief vent and flushing spray point fitted at the top level of the chute.

The system discharges to a room at Basement 01, with a minor offset configuration to the eDiverter stream and a 1100L MGB. A reusable slab penetration ring former was also supplied to suit the 510mm chute diameter, accommodating slab thicknesses up to 350mm.

The completed installation gives Candela a compliant, acoustically considerate waste diversion solution suited to a boutique residential environment, reducing manual handling for building management while supporting the building’s premium positioning.
