Brooke Apartments is a residential development delivered by Maxon Constructions in Canberra. Located close to the University of Canberra and major transport links, the project supports medium density living and required a centralised waste and recycling system that could manage daily resident volumes while meeting fire safety and compliance requirements.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a complete dual chute solution using components from its Chute Systems range. The galvanised steel waste and recycling chutes provide smooth and reliable vertical transfer from all residential levels to the ground floor discharge room.
Each level was fitted with fire rated self closing intake doors from Elephants Foot’s Chute Doors range, ensuring safe use, fire compartmentation and controlled waste entry across the building.
Waste and recycling are discharged through Type A bottom discharge units designed to suit TBCL mobile garbage bins. These discharge points provide secure bin connection and allow efficient changeover during collection, supporting reliable daily waste operations.
At the top of each chute, vent and wash down systems from Elephants Foot’s Odour Management range provide airflow and internal chute cleaning, helping to control odours, maintain hygiene and support long term system performance.
The completed installation delivers a compliant, low maintenance and future ready waste management solution that supports efficient building operations and a positive resident experience at Brooke Apartments.
