Giardino is a boutique residential development delivered by Alta Vale in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Located within a premium residential precinct, the project required a waste management solution that could operate discreetly while maintaining high presentation standards and reliable day‑to‑day performance.
To support these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a dedicated waste chute system designed to suit low to medium density residential use. The system provides residents with a simple and intuitive method of waste disposal while centralising collection at ground level for efficient servicing.
The installation incorporates 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes configured in a straight‑through vertical arrangement. This simplified design minimises transfer points, reduces the risk of blockages, and supports long‑term reliability within a boutique building footprint.
Fire‑rated, self‑closing waste chute intake doors are installed on each active level, providing safe access for residents while maintaining fire and smoke separation between floors. Clear signage supports correct system use and helps preserve cleanliness and building amenity.
At the top of the chute, a dedicated vent and wash‑down cleaning system assists with odour control and internal hygiene. Waste is discharged at lower level via a minor offset into a carousel compactor system suited to 240L mobile garbage bins, reducing manual handling and supporting efficient waste collection. The completed system integrates seamlessly with the building’s overall residential waste management strategy.
