Elephants Foot Chute Solutions Installs Waste Chute System for Belmore Street Residential Tower in Wollongong

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions partnered with Blaq Property to deliver a waste chute system for Eclipse at Belmore Street, a 16-storey residential tower in Wollongong featuring high-end apartments. The development required a reliable and efficient waste management solution to align with its scale and premium residential design.

The scope of works included the installation of galvanised steel chute pipe levels extending from basement 1 through to level 16. A total of 14 self-closing, fire-rated Chute Doors were fitted from level 3 to level 16, each with compliant signage, while bypass levels were incorporated on basement 1, ground, level 1, and level 2.

At the rooftop, a vent and wash-down cleaning system was installed, designed to discharge through open air above the building to maintain hygiene and odour control. The basement 2 discharge room was completed with a Type A Bottom Discharge Attachment configured for 1100L MGBs.

Variations during the project included the addition of a chute access panel at a bypass level, as well as coordination with the waste management and acoustic plans to ensure full compliance.

This installation provided Belmore Street with a streamlined, compliant, and durable chute system, enhancing the convenience and liveability of the residential tower.
