Multi Building Waste Chute & Compactor Systems – Arcadia Lane Cove

Arcadia is a contemporary multi residential development located in the established suburb of Lane Cove on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. Delivered by Dasco Australia, the project provides modern apartment living within a well connected residential precinct designed to support efficient building operations and long term asset performance.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed three independent 510mm galvanised steel waste chute systems servicing Buildings A, B, and C within the development. Each system was designed to provide reliable vertical waste transfer between residential levels while improving operational efficiency within the building’s waste management areas.

Across the project, the installation provides 17 operational waste intake levels distributed across the three buildings. Fire‑rated self‑closing intake doors were installed at each level to ensure safe resident waste disposal and compliance with NSW building standards.

Each chute system runs vertically without offsets, ensuring consistent gravity waste flow and minimising maintenance requirements over the life of the system. Integrated vent and wash‑down cleaning systems were installed above the top service levels to support airflow management, odour control, and ongoing hygiene within the chute shafts.

Waste collected through the chutes is discharged to ground level waste rooms through linear compactor systems configured to suit 240L MGB bins. The compactor units improve waste volume management and reduce the frequency of bin handling, supporting more efficient waste room operations for building management.
