Integrated Dual Waste & Recycling Infrastructure for Master‑Planned Residential Living

Aire The Orchards Building 3, delivered by Growthbuilt in Baulkham Hills, forms part of a master‑planned residential community supporting medium to high density apartment living. The project required a centralised waste and recycling system capable of managing daily resident volumes while maintaining compliance, safety and long‑term operational efficiency.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a dual residential waste chute system incorporating two 510mm galvanised steel chute systems servicing Ground through Roof levels. Fire‑rated, self‑closing waste chute intake doors were installed at each level for both waste and recycling streams, ensuring safe and user‑friendly access throughout the building.

Roof‑level vent and wash‑down cleaning systems were integrated to support airflow management, odour control and long‑term chute hygiene. At Basement Level 1, discharge arrangements were configured with a linear compactor system to suit 660L MGB (waste) and a dedicated linear track system (no compactor) to suit 660L MGB (recycling), optimising bin handling efficiency and servicing logistics.

The completed installation delivers a coordinated and capacity‑optimised apartment waste infrastructure solution designed to support reliable daily operations within a growing residential precinct.
