Resthaven Bellevue Heights Waste & Linen Chute System

Resthaven Bellevue Heights is an aged care and retirement living development delivered by Sarah Constructions in Adelaide’s southern suburbs. Designed to support long‑term care operations, the facility required a waste and linen handling solution that prioritised safety, hygiene, and ease of use for residents and staff within a healthcare environment.

To meet these requirements, Elephants Foot Chute Solution supplied and installed a combination of a dedicated waste chute system and an electronic linen eDiverter chute system. This integrated approach allows for clear separation between general waste and multiple linen streams, supporting infection control protocols and efficient daily operations.

Both systems utilise 610mm galvanised steel chute pipes, installed in a straight‑through configuration to minimise maintenance requirements and reduce the risk of blockages. The simplified vertical layout is particularly suited to aged care facilities where reliability and ease of servicing are critical.

Fire‑rated, self‑closing side‑hinged intake doors are installed at entry level for both waste and linen systems. The electronic linen eDiverter hopper enables controlled separation between resident linen and external linen streams, improving handling efficiency while reducing manual sorting and staff workload.

Each chute is fitted with a dedicated vent and wash‑down cleaning system, supporting odour control, hygiene, and long‑term performance. At lower level, materials are discharged via compliant systems into mobile bins and linen services, integrating seamlessly with the facility’s broader healthcare waste management strategy.
