Motif, delivered by Hamilton & Marino in central Geelong, is a medium to high‑density residential development positioned within the growing regional CBD close to the waterfront, retail precincts, and key transport links. The project required a centralised and compliant waste management solution capable of supporting daily resident volumes while maintaining operational efficiency and long‑term reliability.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a dual residential waste chute system incorporating 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes servicing Ground through Level 6. Dedicated waste and recycling streams were provided to ensure clear separation of materials and improved sustainability outcomes across the building.
Fire‑rated, self‑closing intake doors were installed at each operational level to provide safe, compliant, and user‑friendly access for residents. Integrated vent and wash‑down cleaning systems were installed at the uppermost level to maintain airflow performance, assist with odour management, and support long‑term chute hygiene.
At Basement Level 1, minor offset discharge configurations were designed for both waste and recycling streams to suit 1100L MGBs, optimising bin handling and collection logistics. The installation also incorporated reusable penetration rings to support accurate slab formation and installation efficiency.
The completed system delivers reliable vertical waste transfer infrastructure tailored to apartment living within a high‑profile regional CBD setting.
