A centrally located city hotel supported by a dedicated linen chute system designed for efficient hotel operations

Elephants Foot delivered a purpose built linen management solution for the Mercure Hotel Flagstaff, a new 195 room hotel development in Melbourne’s CBD. Working alongside Hamilton & Marino Constructions, the project required a reliable vertical system to support daily hotel operations while maintaining fire safety and hygiene standards.

The solution comprised a single Chute Systems installation configured as a dedicated linen chute serving the mezzanine and Levels 1 to 16. The system used 510mm galvanised steel chute pipes paired with fire rated, self closing Chute Doors fitted with key locks and smoke seals as standard.

To support cleanliness and odour control in a high occupancy hospitality environment, the system incorporated an integrated Odour Management solution, including a roof terminating vent and wash down cleaning system. Linen was discharged at ground level via purpose designed Discharge Attachments to suit trolley handling, ensuring smooth back of house workflows.
