New Epping Punthill is a serviced apartment hotel development by Balmain and Co, located within the New Epping precinct in Melbourne’s northern corridor. The development required a practical and compliant linen management solution capable of servicing multiple levels efficiently, reducing manual handling for housekeeping and facilities staff and supporting streamlined linen operations throughout the building.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install a linen chute system tailored to the building’s vertical layout and operational requirements. The system services five chute pipe levels, with five fire-rated self-closing linen intake doors installed across all operational levels. The discharge room is located at ground level, fitted with a minor offset discharge configuration to suit the selected linen trolley.
An odour relief vent and flushing spray system was installed at the top of the chute shaft, discharging through to open air at a maximum of 3,000mm above the head of the chute to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the shaft.
The completed installation provides Balmain and Co with a durable and compliant linen management solution suited to the operational demands of a high-density serviced apartment environment, supporting efficient building operations and reliable long-term performance within the New Epping precinct.
