Illume Griffith is a contemporary multi residential development located within Canberra’s established inner south precinct. Delivered by PBS Building, the project required a reliable and compliant waste infrastructure solution designed to integrate seamlessly within the building’s vertical core while supporting long term operational performance.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed a dual 510mm galvanised steel waste and recycling chute system servicing levels Ground to 5. The system provides dedicated waste and recycling streams, enabling efficient separation and consistent daily waste transfer within a high density residential environment.
Custom chute support brackets were incorporated to suit structural penetrations and achieve compliant fixing across all levels. The vertical chute runs were designed for efficient gravity flow, terminating at the Lower Ground discharge room where high capacity Type A bottom discharge doors were configured to suit 3000L bins.
Two integrated vent and wash‑down cleaning systems were installed at Level 5 to manage airflow, control odour, and support ongoing hygiene performance.
The completed installation delivers a durable, compliant and high capacity waste management solution tailored to the operational needs of Illume Griffith, supporting PBS Building with a practical, low maintenance system that enhances building efficiency and resident amenity.
