
Olea is a boutique luxury residential development by Balmain and Co, located at 44-54 Kambrook Road, Caulfield North VIC, within Melbourne’s City of Glen Eira. The development’s boutique scale and premium character required a space-efficient and compliant waste management solution that integrates seamlessly into the building’s operational infrastructure across multiple levels.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install an eDiverter chute system tailored to the building’s vertical layout and occupancy requirements. The eDiverter system enables both waste and recycling streams to be managed through a single chute line, with an automated diverter at the base directing material to the correct bin, providing a practical and space-efficient waste separation solution well suited to a boutique luxury residential building.
The installation services six chute pipe levels, with five fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake doors installed across all operational levels and a bypass configuration incorporated at basement 1 where no intake access is required. Signage was fitted to each intake door to support correct use by residents. The chute runs straight up and down throughout the shaft, with the discharge room located at basement 2 fitted with an eDiverter discharge system configured to suit 1,100L MGBs for both waste and recycling streams.
A vent and wash-down cleaning system was installed at the top of the chute shaft, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the full height of the shaft.
The completed installation provides Balmain and Co with a durable, compliant, and low-maintenance waste management solution tailored to the boutique luxury character of Olea, supporting efficient building operations and a refined residential experience for occupants within Melbourne’s City of Glen Eira.
