Kalypso is a boutique luxury residential development comprising eleven bespoke residences, delivered by Gledhill Construction and located at 63 Fletcher Street, Tamarama, in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. The development reflects a high standard of residential design and construction within one of Sydney’s most prestigious coastal suburbs, requiring building infrastructure that performs reliably while complementing the premium character of the building.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed an eDiverter chute system suited to the operational demands of a premium boutique residential building. The eDiverter system enables both waste and recycling streams to be managed through a single chute line, with an automated diverter at the base directing material to the correct bin. This space-efficient solution is well suited to a boutique development where shaft space is limited and waste room operations need to remain clean and well-organised.
The installation services three chute pipe levels across ground floor, level 1, and level 2, with fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake doors installed at each level. Signage was fitted to each intake door to support correct use by residents. The discharge room is located at basement level 1. The discharge configuration at basement level 1 incorporates two systems to manage separate waste streams. The eDiverter discharge system is configured to suit a 660L recycling MGB, while a carousel system without compactor is installed to suit a 240L MGB for general waste. This split discharge arrangement supports organised and efficient waste and recycling collection within a compact basement waste room environment.
Acoustic lagging using Pyrotek Soundlag 4525C equivalent was applied to all three chute pipe levels, reducing noise transmission through the building structure and maintaining the quiet and refined living environment expected within a premium boutique residential development.
A vent and wash-down cleaning system was installed at level 2, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the full height of the shaft.
The completed installation provides Gledhill Construction with a compliant, low-maintenance, and high-performance waste management solution tailored to the specific demands of Kalypso, supporting efficient building operations and a premium residential experience for occupants.
