Fawkner House is an award-winning boutique luxury residential development by VCON, located at 146 Toorak Road West, South Yarra VIC, within Melbourne’s prestigious Domain precinct overlooking Fawkner Park. The development’s refined character and highly regarded design credentials required a waste management solution that performs reliably while integrating unobtrusively into the operational fabric of a premium boutique residential building.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install an eDiverter chute system tailored to the building’s vertical layout and occupancy requirements. The eDiverter system enables both waste and recycling streams to be managed through a single chute line, with an automated diverter at the base directing material to the correct bin, providing a space-efficient and practical waste separation solution well suited to a boutique luxury residential environment.
The installation services three chute pipe levels, with three fire-rated self-closing eDiverter intake doors in stainless steel with powder-coated frames installed at every operational level. Signage was fitted to each intake door to support correct use by residents. The chute runs straight up and down with no offsets, with the discharge room located at basement level fitted with an eDiverter discharge system configured to suit a 1,100L MGB for both waste and recycling streams.
A vent and wash-down cleaning system was installed at the top of the chute shaft, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout the shaft.
The completed installation provides VCON with a durable, compliant, and low-maintenance waste management solution tailored to the boutique luxury character of Fawkner House, supporting efficient building operations and a refined residential experience for occupants in one of Melbourne’s most prestigious inner-city precincts.
