Vivacity is a large-scale mixed-use residential development by JQZ, located at 5 Uhrig Road, Lidcombe NSW, within the Carter Street Precinct of Western Sydney. The development spans five towers across two building heights, with seven independently configured dual waste and recycling chute systems required to suit the differing layouts, levels, and discharge arrangements of each building core.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install seven dual waste and recycling chute systems across Towers T1 through T5, providing a combined total of 182 chute pipe levels and 176 fire-rated self-closing intake doors across all operational levels. Six bypass configurations were incorporated across Towers T2 and T3 where intake access was not required at certain levels.
Tower T1 is the largest core, servicing 30 waste and 30 recycling chute pipe levels with intake doors at every level and discharge to basement 0 mezzanine. Tower T2 services 23 waste and 23 recycling chute pipe levels with bypass configurations at basement 0 mezzanine level and discharge to basement 1. Tower T3 services 20 waste and 20 recycling chute pipe levels with bypass configurations at basement 0 mezzanine and upper ground levels, also discharging to basement 1. Towers T1, T2, and T3 are each fitted with linear track systems without compactor to suit 1,100L MGBs for both waste and recycling streams.
Towers T4 North, T4 South, T5 North, and T5 South each service five and four waste and recycling chute pipe levels respectively, with intake doors installed at every operational level. All four lower-rise cores discharge to basement 0 mezzanine level, each fitted with two Type A bottom discharge doors configured to suit 660L MGBs for both waste and recycling streams.
Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of all 14 chute shafts across all seven systems, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout each shaft.
The completed installation provides JQZ with a durable, compliant, and coordinated waste infrastructure solution suited to the scale and complexity of Vivacity, supporting efficient building operations and reliable long-term performance across all five towers within the Carter Street Precinct.
