Grand Reve is a luxury high-rise residential development by Dasco, located on Garthowen Crescent, Castle Hill NSW, within Sydney’s Hills District. The development comprises two residential buildings of differing heights, each requiring an individually configured dual waste and recycling chute system to suit its specific layout and discharge requirements.
Elephants Foot Chute Solutions was engaged to supply and install two dual waste and recycling chute systems across Buildings A and B, providing a combined total of 66 chute pipe levels across both buildings. The systems provide efficient and separate waste and recycling transfer across multiple levels, reducing manual handling for building management and supporting well-organised waste room operations throughout the development.
Building A services 15 waste and 15 recycling chute pipe levels, with 15 fire-rated self-closing waste intake doors and 15 recycling intake doors installed across all operational levels. Two chute offsets were incorporated at basement 2 level to route both chutes to the discharge room at basement 3. The discharge room is fitted with a carousel compactor system to suit a 1,100L waste MGB and a carousel system without compactor to suit a 1,100L recycling MGB.
Building B services 18 waste and 18 recycling chute pipe levels, with 17 fire-rated self-closing waste intake doors and 17 recycling intake doors installed across operational levels and bypass configurations incorporated at basement 1 for both streams. Two chute offsets were incorporated at basement 2 void space level. The discharge room is located at basement 3, fitted with a linear track compactor system to suit a 1,100L waste MGB and a linear track system without compactor to suit a 1,100L recycling MGB.
Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of all four chute shafts across both buildings, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout each shaft.
The completed installation provides Dasco with a durable, compliant, and well-configured waste and recycling infrastructure solution suited to the scale and complexity of Grand Reve, supporting reliable long-term performance across both residential buildings within Sydney’s Hills District.
