Dual Waste and Recycling Chute System Installation

Chapman Gardens is a landmark residential development by Nic Constructions, located at 16-26 Chapman Avenue, Castle Hill NSW, within Sydney’s Hills Showground Precinct. The development spans four building cores each requiring a dual waste and recycling chute system with integrated compaction and linear track equipment to support efficient waste room operations across the development.

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions supplied and installed four dual waste and recycling chute systems across Buildings B1, B2, C1, and C2, providing a combined total of 72 chute pipe levels and 60 fire-rated self-closing intake doors across all operational levels. Bypass configurations were incorporated at basement 1 in all four buildings, with Buildings B1 and B2 also incorporating bypass configurations at level 1 for both streams. All four discharge rooms are located at basement 2.

Each building core is fitted with a linear compactor system to suit a 1,100L waste MGB and a linear track system without compactor to suit a 1,100L recycling MGB, supporting efficient waste compaction and organised bin management within the basement waste rooms. Vent and wash-down cleaning systems were installed at the top of all eight chute shafts, discharging through to roof level above to support airflow management, odour control, and internal chute hygiene throughout each shaft.

The completed installation provides Nic Constructions with a durable, compliant, and well-configured waste and recycling infrastructure solution suited to the scale of Chapman Gardens, supporting reliable long-term performance across all four building cores within Sydney’s Hills Showground Precinct.
