Dual Chute System with Acoustic Lagging Installed at Argyle Square, Carlton

Elephants Foot Chute Solutions partnered with L.U. Simon Builders to deliver a customised dual chute system for Argyle Square, a premium mixed-use development designed by Metier3 and developed by Havenport. The project comprises 72 apartments and 7 townhouses across 11 levels, with two basement levels for resident parking, requiring a robust and efficient waste and recycling management solution.

The installation included 20 LLDPE plastic chute pipes across dual waste and recycling streams, with 18 fire-rated, self-closing intake hopper doors. Each hopper was fitted with signage to ensure compliance and user clarity, while bypass arrangements were provided at the upper ground level.

To address acoustic performance, Elephants Foot integrated acoustic lagging bonded to convoluted foam, enhancing sound insulation at the offset levels. The system also featured two custom chute offsets at upper ground and rooftop washdown and venting systems for hygiene and maintenance.

At the discharge level, the waste and recycling streams were each directed to Type A discharge attachments configured to suit mobile garbage bins, ensuring both operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements.

This project demonstrates Elephants Foot’s capability to combine material resilience, acoustic performance, and future-ready design to suit high-density residential developments.
